Issy is called up to Champions League
A SUFFOLK referee will be officiating in the Women's Champions League this week.
Issy Chaplin (pictured centre above) will be an assistant referee at two Champions League qualifying matches.
The 22-year-old, who lives near Hadleigh, will be on the line for the fixtures knock-out matches in St Pölten, Austria.
Issy will be involved in the PAOK (Greece) versus Racing FC Union Luxembourg (Luxembourg) semi-final on Wednesday, kick-off 5pm.
This will be followed by the final featuring St Pölten (Austria) and the winners of the PAOK/Racing FC Union tie on Saturday.
Issy, who is a Level 5 referee, refereeing in the Suffolk & Ipswich League and as an assistant referee in the Eastern Counties League.
As a Level 2W referee she referees in the Women’s Championship and is an assistant referee on the Women’s Super League.
She was on the line for the Manchester United versus Manchester City derby towards the end of the 2022-23 season.
Issy, who is Women and Girls’ Football Development Officer at Suffolk FA, said: “I am thoroughly looking forward to officiating in the Women’s Champions League.
