REFEREES appointed to this season’s Suffolk County Cup Finals have been recognised.

Around 50 officials, who have been selected for the 11 senior county cup competitions, attended the Suffolk County Cup Final Celebration Evening at Henley Community Centre, just outside Ipswich.

Former Suffolk FA Workforce Manager Alan Dale, who is now a Trustee, welcomed guests to Friday’s event and congratulated them on their appointments.

Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal thanked the officials for the work they do throughout the course of the season.

Constantine Hatzidakis, Assistant Referee for the 2019 FA Cup Final, was guest speaker for the evening. He spent nine years as an Assistant Referee, reaching FIFA and Premier League standard, before choosing to take up refereeing again.

He spoke about the importance of officials controlling their emotions on cup final day.
