Sanctioning events

Charity Cups, Leagues, One-Off Competitions and Tournaments

If you are organising a Charity Cup, Small-Sided League, One-Off Competition or Tournament, you can download the relevant forms and information that are required below.

All competitions must be sanctioned by Suffolk FA in order for affiliated clubs to compete. 

To register your club, league or other competition with Suffolk FA you will need to contact our County Headquarters to gain access to the online affiliation Portal. This can be done by calling us on 01449 616606.

 

Charity Cups

All charity competitions in Suffolk must be affiliated to Suffolk FA. 

This can be done by completing the SSTF Form below, accompanied by a copy of the competition's rules, and return this with the remittance of £20 to Suffolk FA, Bill Steward House, The Buntings, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 5GZ.

Before returning the SSTF form under the related documents below, please make sure that all clubs in your charity competition are affiliated to their respective county associations for the ensuing season.

Please Note - The following FA Rules will be strictly enforced:

Competitions that comprise of more than one match: 
a) Must register by June 30th in each year. 
b) Those run on a league basis must contribute not less than one tenth of the Gross Receipts of each match to an approved Charity.
c) Those run as a Challenge Competition must contribute not less than one tenth of the Gross Receipts of all preliminary rounds and at least one third of the Gross Receipts of the Semi-Final and Final Ties.

One Match played for a trophy or mementoes:
a) Permission to play these matches must be applied for not later than April 1st, by application to the Football Services Manager.
b) The gross proceeds (from all sources), subject to reasonable expenses - which may not exceed 20% - must be paid over to the charity for which the match is played within 14 days of the date of the match and a receipt for this, together with a statement of account of the match must be sent to the chief executive officer within the same period.

 

Leagues

All football leagues in Suffolk must be affiliated to Suffolk FA.

This can be done simply by completing the Sanction form and Form D accompanied by a copy of the competition’s rules, and returning with the correct remittance to Suffolk FA HQ, Bill Steward House, The Buntings, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 5GZ.

Before returning the Form D, please make sure that all clubs in your league are affiliated to their respective County Associations for the ensuing season.

 

One-off Matches

Individual one-off matches (not competition matches) may be played.

A match arranged between two clubs or teams in which a trophy, medals or other reward is given to the club or players is not a competition within this rule.

The cost for affiliating a one-off match is £10.00.

Please complete the OOM form under related documents below and send in, along with payment of £10.00, to Suffolk FA HQ, Bill Steward House, The Buntings, Stowmarket, Suffolk, IP14 5GZ. All cheques should be made payable to Suffolk FA.

 

Tournaments

FA Regulations require that all competitions and tournaments should be properly affiliated to the local county FA.

Competition Rules
