TWO high-scoring teams meet in the second McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup Semi-Final on Saturday.

Cavendish and Ipswich Vale Exiles have netted 41 goals between them in just eight ties in this season’s competition.

The two teams will go toe-to-toe with each other at Cornard United FC for the right to tackle Redgrave Rangers in the final at Colchester United on Tuesday, April 30th.

Essex & Suffolk Border League Division Two side Cavendish have scored 24 goals in their four ties en route to the semi-finals.

After a 7-3 win at home to Lakenheath Casuals in round one, Cavendish whipped Hundon Reserves 10-0 away in the second round.

A trip to Grundisburgh Reserves in the third round resulted in a narrow 2-1 success, before Cavendish knocked out Kirton Athletic Reserves 5-3 in the last eight.

Cavendish, who sit sixth in the table with 31 points from 21 matches, face an Ipswich Vale Exiles side who top Division Six of the Macron SIL.

They have picked up 42 points from 15 matches, losing just once, and have netted 103 goals, with a further 17 in four Primary Cup ties.

They edged past Assington Stanley 2-1 away from home in the opening round, before disposing of Hadleigh United Brettsiders 5-1 in round two.

That was followed by a 6-0 success at Coplestonians Development and then a 4-2 win at Unity in the quarter-finals.

On Sunday it is the semi-finals in the five Videndum Suffolk Girls’ Cups.

The Suffolk Mixed U15 and U16 Plate Semi-Finals are also taking place.
