Long Melford Football Club are looking to recruit a new Chairperson and Club Secretary.

The club has a proud history being the tenth oldest club in the country.

The club are looking for a new Chairperson and Club Secretary who will provide leadership and administrative support.

The candidates will need to build on the friendly atmosphere at the club. Melford are looking for individuals that enjoy working as part of a team.

The Chairperson will need to provide all important leadership and ensure that all strands of the organisation are working effectively and in harmony.

The Club Secretary is the vital link between the league and other clubs ensuring that everything is in place for the smooth operation of football and other activities.

Bacton United ’89 FC are seeking a new club secretary for next season.

The club’s current secretary is standing down after many years in the role.

Bacton United 89 operate three Saturday senior teams as well as a variety of Youth teams.

The role, which would cover just the senior side of the club, includes annual league and player registrations as well as the match-day fixture management and reporting.

A full overview of the role is available and would include a complete handover with the current secretary.

This position would suit someone with previous experience of being a club secretary or someone looking to become involved in a local football club. You will receive full support from a committed and loyal club committee.

Holbrook Hornets Youth are looking for new members to join their committee this season.

Holbrook have gone from strength-to-strength over the last few seasons with 10 age ranges and 150 registered players. 

The club are looking for the following roles:

Club Secretary (or Assistant Club Secretary for one season, if needs be)  

Holds the secretary @holbrookhornets.co.uk email address 

Role: Do (or support with, if Assistant) League Affiliation and Annual Insurance renewals. Oversee the Age Range Managers’ Registration of Players on the FA’s Whole Game System. Cascade of information to Club Managers re: fixtures & League communications. Point of contact for Holbrook Sports Centre.  

Commitment: for the new season prep (May to August) 1 hour/week max.  

During the season, estimate 30 mins to 1 hour/week max on average  

NB Invite to sit on the Club’s Exec Committee and have a view on how the Club is run, if want to.  

The Exec Committee meets Feb, April, June, Oct & December.  


Club clothing – Kit  

Holds the Kit@holbrookhornets.co.uk email address.  

Role: Order kit from Club supplier (via email – he despatches via courier to whatever address works for you). Maintain small Stock. Deliver kit orders to age range Managers (at training). Check then pass invoices to Treasurer to pay.  

Commitment: At the start of season (Sept), 2 hours/week max, plus attend training Thursday nights to deliver kit to age range Managers.  

During the season, estimate 30 mins to 1 hour/week max on average.

Role: To keep track of the finances of the club, which include player registration fees at the start and during the season. Paying invoices which come into the club and club expenses. Keeping track of the finances for club to keep on budget and set budgets for upcoming seasons. 

Commitment: At the start of season (Sept), 2 hours/week max.  

During the season (Oct to July), estimate 30 mins to 1 hour/week max on average.  

NB Invite to sit on the Club’s Exec Committee and have a view on how the Club is run, if want to.

The Charioteers Wheelchair Football Club in Ipswich are looking to recruit volunteers.

They are looking for a club volunteer who ideally has an up-to-date CRC, is able to help physically ie help members with various types of physical disabilities, put on and take off their vests, attach a bumper to their chairs then during the session help assist the coach with various jobs including being ball person, being lines person and get out and put away equipment too.

The person needs to be dog friendly as the mascot is also an assistance dog who attends each session and plays with the members before and after the session. 

The club also requires a behind-the-scenes volunteer. This Volunteer (who ideally has experience in PR and media style training plus experience with charity management work etc) is needed to help the club secretary with getting the club advertised in various areas of the press, media, magazine, businesses, organisations and on websites.   

The volunteer is also needed to help with all aspects and to help the club locate aspects of possible access to charity activities and fundraising to help maintain the financial future and well-being of The Charioteers. 

As the only wheelchair football club for Suffolk the clubs members are a mixed, young and old alike, and of various different  types of disabilities. Members come from all over Suffolk and Essex too. The club motto is Family and Fun.

Haverhill Rovers FC are seeking a first-team physio, ideally for immediate start.


  • Minimum FA Intermediate Treatment of Injury Course (or equivalent).
  • Must hold valid First Aid Certificate
  • Would work closely with First Team management/players
  • Must be available Tuesday evenings and Saturdays (home & away match day fixtures)
  • Ideal candidate would be a student studying Sports Science/Physiotherapy for work experience

Haughley United have the following vacancies for the 2019-20 season – chairman and vice chairman.

They are looking for enthusiastic people with a love for grassroots football to take on these roles at this well-established Suffolk and Ipswich league club.

All managers and other committee members will be in place for the new season at the club that currently runs two teams in the Senior and Division B of the SIL.

Walking Football Session Leader - EverydayActiv-Ipswich is a sport and physical activity programme largely for people who are over 50 and not currently playing regular sport. It is delivered by ActivLives in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council.

Currently two weekly Walking Football sessions are run in Ipswich on a Thursday and Friday afternoon. The sessions are held in and outdoors and are targeted at the 50+ age group. This is ‘social sport’ where the cuppa afterwards is as important as the game itself.

A Session Leader is required to help in covering these sessions. The role is to take the register and collect the session fees, lead the warm up, referee the game(s), and lead the warm down. You will then be making sure that the group enjoy a cuppa and a chat upstairs in the Community Room. You will be responsible for safely introducing any first time participants to the session.

You will need to:

  • Have a relevant fitness, sport or PE qualification, preferably at level two or above
  • Have relevant sports leadership and/or sports coaching experience

You do not need to be a qualified football coach to be suitable for this role.

Hourly rates of pay for these sessions is £15

Westerfield United FC play in the Suffolk & Ipswich League Senior Division and Intermediate Division ‘A’.

A third person is required to help Reserve Team Managers on match days.

The role will include all or some of the following tasks before kick-off, during the match and after the final whistle:

Help with

  • Preparation of kit prior to kick-off
  • Refilling water bottles
  • Placing of cones for warm up before kick-off
  • Assisting referee as a linesman
  • Taking and collecting ‘warm-up’ footballs from the clubhouse and returning after final whistle
  • Sorting kit for laundry after final whistle

The club home ground is situated at Ipswich School Sports Centre, The Street, Rushmere St. Andrew, Ipswich IP5 1DE, where there is a club bar for a friendly get together after the match.

Training also takes place at the ground on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm.
