Holbrook Hornets FC require a club secretary.

Ideally they will have some previous experience, but commitment, resilience and easy access to online systems are needed.

Holbrook Hornets are a lovely friendly community-club, operating from U5s to U17s, and were Highly Commended in the Suffolk FA ‘2020 Grassroots Club of the Year’ awards, with an Ethos of ‘Football For All’ and inclusivity. 

The club train on Thursday evenings in Holbrook, IP9 2QX (10-15mins drive from Ipswich town centre). 

Committee meetings are held once/month, on a weekday evening, in Holbrook or via Zoom.

Framlingham Town FC are restructuring their back-room setup for the 2022-23 season with a variety of opportunities to assist in the club’s progression.

Having reached the Thurlow Nunn League Division One North Play-Offs in the 2021-22 season, the club have some exciting development plans and are seeking willing volunteers to come on board to help in the following areas:


Groundsmen – to assist with enhancing the pitch/general ground maintenance. 


Match Day volunteers – to assist with hosting home games, from volunteering on the turnstile to helping with arriving visitors, cooking hot food, helping with bar duties – all help welcome.


Treasurer/Bookkeeper – to work alongside our committee and assist with all the financial processes.


Ground maintenance volunteers – to enhance & maintain the facilities at Badingham Road.


Coaching opportunities – available in the junior and senior sections for the right candidates.


Committee Members – the club are looking to add pro-active volunteers to their committee to help the club develop and progress.


Social media manager – to oversee the club’s Twitter and Facebook pages and update their website.


Physio – To assist on training evenings (1-2 hours) and on match days for the first XI (expenses covered)

Haverhill Rovers FC are one of the largest Community Football clubs in the country, operating around 55 teams including both youth and senior teams.

Their first team play at Step 5 in the Eastern Counties Thurlow Nunn Premier League, and they now have some vacancies available to support the operations of the football club.

Home games are played at The New Croft facility that provides one of the best football facilities in the east of England. The Ipswich & Suffolk Youth Football League is now looking for a new fixture secretary to start next season.

This role would attract an honorarium to reflect the intense nature of the commitment required to carry out the role.

The office reports to the League Management committee but most of all to the many teams in the league.

The Ipswich & Suffolk Youth League have vacancies for two important committees and would welcome interest from members of member clubs:

The League Management Committee has a vacancy for a club representative. This role would be of interest to someone with an admin background and good communication skills. It would require attendance at committee meetings – about every six weeks – and would in return offer an opportunity to influence league management from a club perspective. There are currently three club reps and together with the officers they make up the management committee.

The League Development Committee has vacancies for anyone interested in developing the League to keep up with current thinking and help take the league into the future. From the entry of young footballers at age six to their departure at the age of 18, there is huge scope for provision of football development to ensure that they are happy to continue to play the game long into adulthood. So anyone with a passion for the development of young footballers and who has ideas to bring to the table would be welcome – the possibilities are endless!

Woodbridge Town Under-14s are looking for a young person to run the line at all their matches next season.

They play in Division One of the Suffolk Youth Football League, with matches on Saturday mornings.

They are happy if the youngster is already qualified as a referee or, if not, they will pay for him or her to attend The FA Referee Course.

The match-day reporter will be responsible for match reports, Twitter updates and the programme and the media marketing person for day-to-day updates on social media platforms.

Lakenheath FC are looking for an individual to head up a new Youth section at the club.

They are looking to create a pathway to support their existing Under-18 side, who compete in the Thurlow Nunn Midweek Floodlit League.

The U18s have supplied many players into their senior men’s Reserve side this season whilst two of last season’s side are currently members of the first-team squad.

The club wishes to build on this promising start and offer more opportunities, including EJA football to local youngsters.

The Individual in question will have a background in Youth football and aim to build a Youth section year on year with the help and support of the club’s Director of Football Tony Lyes and the senior committee.

The club have an opportunity to develop on-site facilities, to include a 3G pitch, as well as facilities in the local area to sustain the creation of new sides within a Youth section.

This role is voluntary but gives someone the chance to prove themselves and gain valuable experience which could lead to a full-time role with a professional club or organisation.

 The main responsibilities include-

  • Purchase ledger - Processing invoices and payment runs
  • Sales ledger- Sales invoicing and credit control
  • Entering sales and purchase invoices using correct nominal codes
  • Bank Reconciliations/Supplier Statement reconciliations
  • Producing monthly analysis reports (debtors & creditors, analysis of turnover)
  • Producing profit and loss reports


HCSA are looking for a candidate with:

  • Previous experience in bookkeeping
  • AAT qualified would be preferred
  • Accounts preparation experience
  • Experience with Accounting software systems such as Sage, Xero and Quickbooks would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills

Bacton United ’89 FC are seeking a new club secretary for next season.

The club’s current secretary is standing down after many years in the role.

Bacton United 89 operate three Saturday senior teams as well as a variety of Youth teams.

The role, which would cover just the senior side of the club, includes annual league and player registrations as well as the match-day fixture management and reporting.

Holbrook Hornets Youth are looking for new members to join their committee this season.

Holbrook have gone from strength-to-strength over the last few seasons with 10 age ranges and 150 registered players. 

The club are looking for the following roles:

Club Secretary (or Assistant Club Secretary for one season, if needs be)

Role: Do (or support with, if Assistant) League Affiliation and Annual Insurance renewals. Oversee the Age Range Managers’ Registration of Players on the FA’s Whole Game System. Commitment: for the new season prep (May to August) 1 hour/week max.  

During the season, estimate 30 mins to 1 hour/week max on average

Commitment: At the start of season (Sept), 2 hours/week max, plus attend training Thursday nights to deliver kit to age range Managers.  

During the season, estimate 30 mins to 1 hour/week max on average.

Role: To keep track of the finances of the club, which include player registration fees at the start and during the season. Paying invoices which come into the club and club expenses. Keeping track of the finances for club to keep on budget and set budgets for upcoming seasons.

During the season (Oct to July), estimate 30 mins to 1 hour/week max on average.

The Charioteers Wheelchair Football Club in Ipswich are looking to recruit volunteers.

They are looking for a club volunteer who ideally has an up-to-date CRC, is able to help physically ie help members with various types of physical disabilities, put on and take off their vests, attach a bumper to their chairs then during the session help assist the coach with various jobs including being ball person, being lines person and get out and put away equipment too.

The person needs to be dog friendly as the mascot is also an assistance dog who attends each session and plays with the members before and after the session. 

The club also requires a behind-the-scenes volunteer. This Volunteer (who ideally has experience in PR and media style training plus experience with charity management work etc) is needed to help the club secretary with getting the club advertised in various areas of the press, media, magazine, businesses, organisations and on websites.   

The volunteer is also needed to help with all aspects and to help the club locate aspects of possible access to charity activities and fundraising to help maintain the financial future and well-being of The Charioteers. 

As the only wheelchair football club for Suffolk the clubs members are a mixed, young and old alike, and of various different  types of disabilities. Members come from all over Suffolk and Essex too. The club motto is Family and Fun.

Walking Football Session Leader - EverydayActiv-Ipswich is a sport and physical activity programme largely for people who are over 50 and not currently playing regular sport. It is delivered by ActivLives in partnership with Ipswich Borough Council.

Currently two weekly Walking Football sessions are run in Ipswich on a Thursday and Friday afternoon. The sessions are held in and outdoors and are targeted at the 50+ age group. This is ‘social sport’ where the cuppa afterwards is as important as the game itself.

A Session Leader is required to help in covering these sessions. The role is to take the register and collect the session fees, lead the warm up, referee the game(s), and lead the warm down. You will then be making sure that the group enjoy a cuppa and a chat upstairs in the Community Room. You will be responsible for safely introducing any first time participants to the session.

You will need to:

  • Have a relevant fitness, sport or PE qualification, preferably at level two or above
  • Have relevant sports leadership and/or sports coaching experience

You do not need to be a qualified football coach to be suitable for this role.

Hourly rates of pay for these sessions is £15

Westerfield United FC play in the Suffolk & Ipswich League Senior Division and Intermediate Division ‘A’.

A third person is required to help Reserve Team Managers on match days.

The role will include all or some of the following tasks before kick-off, during the match and after the final whistle:

Help with

  • Preparation of kit prior to kick-off
  • Refilling water bottles
  • Placing of cones for warm up before kick-off
  • Assisting referee as a linesman
  • Taking and collecting ‘warm-up’ footballs from the clubhouse and returning after final whistle
  • Sorting kit for laundry after final whistle

The club home ground is situated at Ipswich School Sports Centre, The Street, Rushmere St. Andrew, Ipswich IP5 1DE, where there is a club bar for a friendly get together after the match.

Training also takes place at the ground on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm.
