Affiliation 2023-24 update May 2023

Webinar for clubs around affiliation

A WEBINAR is to be held for clubs about affiliating for the 2023-24 season.

A WEBINAR is to be held for clubs about affiliating for the 2023-24 season.

When it was announced at the end of March that affiliation to Suffolk FA for the 2023-24 season will be free, clubs were also notified that the FA system by which all clubs will use to undertake affiliation is changing.

Where clubs previously used Whole Game System to complete affiliation, from 2023-24 affiliation will be undertaken using Clubs Portal.

The FA will be hosting a webinar for clubs, showcasing the Clubs Portal affiliation process, on Monday, May 15th from 6.30pm-7.30pm.

If you are unable to attend live, this session will be recorded and subsequently circulated to all clubs.

Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal explained: “To manage the roll-out of the new affiliation system, and (we all hope) maximise the chances of the new system being successful, The FA are phasing the opening of affiliation for all County FAs.

“Suffolk FA has been scheduled in the second tranche of the phasing, meaning our affiliation go-live date is week commencing Monday, June 12th.

“This is roughly one month later than our usual affiliation window opening. Player Registration will also be available from this date.”

In accordance with FA Rule B21 which states the close season is June 1st-June 31st and no 11v11 football is to take place during this period (limited exceptions), teams will need to be successfully affiliated before non-competition ‘friendly’ matches can commence from Saturday, July 1st 2023.

A webinar is also to be held for leagues on Wednesday, May 17th from 6.30pm-7.30pm.
