THE FOCUS will be on the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup First Round on Saturday.

The 22 teams taking part will be looking to follow in the footsteps of Hadleigh United Reserves and Lakenheath Reserves, who both booked their places in the second round last weekend.

There are several ties where Macron SIL clubs will be aiming to progess at the expensed of higher-league Thurlow Nunn League clubs.

These include Achilles Reserves v Stowmarket Reserves, Capel Plough Reserves at Cornard United Reserves, Halesworth Town Reserves who travel to Framlingham Town Reserves, Henley Athletic Reserves who visit Walsham-le-Willows Reserves and Trimley Red Devils who travel to Whitton United Reserves.

Anglian Combination Division Three side Beccles Town Reserves will be hoping to make it third time lucky in this season’s competition, after losing to Woodbridge Town in each of the last two finals. They are at home to Coplestonians Reserves.

The one remaining first-round tie in the Parkers Pitches Suffolk Junior Cup is also taking place on Saturday as Witnesham Wasps entertain AFC Kesgrave.

There’s second-round action in the three adult men’s Sunday cups the following day.

Bury St Edmunds-based Howards are already assured of a quarter-final berth in the Suffolk Sunday Cup, after scheduled opponents Brandon Town Community folded.

There are seven ties scheduled in the Veo Suffolk Sunday Shield and 16 in the Suffolk Sunday Trophy.
