A LAST-GASP goal gave Bury Town EJA victory in Sunday’s Portable Space Suffolk Under-14 Mixed Cup Final.

Bury Town scored with just ten seconds remaining to defeat Needham Market 2-1 in one of 12 County Cup and Plate finals held at The New Croft in Haverhill.

After taking an early lead, Bury looked on course to win the final until Needham equalised inside the last ten minutes only for Bury to win the all-EJA clash with almost the last kick of the game.

Needham Market EJA had earlier beaten Bury Town EJA 3-1 in the Portable Space Mixed U13 Cup Final, while Needham Market Phoenix won one and lost one of their two finals.

It was a successful day for Waveney FC, winning both the Videndum Girls’ U13 Cup and the Mixed U16 Plate Finals, although losing an excellent final 4-2 to Kesgrave Kestrels in the Videndum Girls’ U12 Cup.
