Walsham through to U18 Midweek semis
A PENALTY shoot-out win sent Walsham-le-Willows through to the Veo Suffolk Under-18 Midweek Cup Semi-Finals.
They defeated Lowestoft Town 5-4 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in Thursday night’s quarter-final at The Morrish Stadium.
Walsham, who have twice been runners-up in the competition, will have to wait until later this week to see who their opponents will be.
The other semi-final between Stowmarket Town and Haverhill Rovers at Greens Meadow was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The two teams will try again to play their Suffolk Under-18 Midweek Cup (pictured above) last-four tie on Thursday night, with the match now switching to The New Croft, kick-off 7.45pm.
Despite the heavy rain leading up to and over the weekend, only one of the Suffolk Mixed Plate Quarter-Finals fell victim to the weather.
