TWO teams each scored eight times in the Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup on Sunday.

AFC Hoxne won 8-0 away to Coplestonians Reserves, while Ransomes Sports were 8-2 winners at home to Ipswich Wanderers in their third-round ties.

West Suffolk side Moulton defeated Old Newton United 5-1, while their were odd goal victories for Woodbridge Town (2-1 at home to Bury Town) and BOCA Norman Warriors (1-0 at Sole Bay United).

A penalty shoot-out was required to decide the winners of the tie between Ipswich Vale Exiles Reserves and Hadleigh United, after they drew 2-2.

It was Ipswich Vale Exiles Reserves who won 6-5 to book their place in the quarter-finals of this season’s competition.

The line-up for the last eight of this season’s McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup is now complete, after the remaining two third-round matches went ahead at the weekend.

Occold set up a home tie in the quarter-finals versus Redgrave Rangers following their 2-0 win at East Bergholt United ‘A’.

Unity, who were 3-1 winners at home to Boxford Rovers, will now host Ipswich Vale Exiles. Both those ties are scheduled for Saturday, February 10th.

A whole host of ties were played in the U14, U14, U15 and U16 Mixed Plate competitions, meaning they have all now reached the quarter-final stage.

The draws will be announced this week.
