THERE’S a busy weekend of county cup action ahead with ties in eight different competitions.

Only one of those is on Saturday when the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup get under way for the 2023-24 season.

Holders Hadleigh United Under-23s (one of a raft of sides competing as an U23 side rather than a Reserve side after the Thurlow Nunn League’s switch to an U23 League) face neighbours Cornard United.

Beccles Town Reserves, who Hadleigh United Reserves beat 1-0 in last season’s final, entertain Ransomes Sports Reserves.

The following morning the Portable Space Suffolk Mixed Youth Cups get under way, with matches in the U12, U13, U14, U15, U16 and U18 competitions.

Then on Sunday afternoon there are 20 first-round matches scheduled in the Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup including several local derbies.

Kesgrave Kestrels entertain AFC Kesgrave, while in Lowestoft Waveney Athletic welcome Waveney, BOCA Norman Warriors play Pakefield Dynamos and ETC Lowestoft host Lowestoft Casuals.

In the west of the county Bury Town take on West Gate Elks, while in the east it is Coplestonians versus Ipswich Wanderers and Ipswich Vale Exiles v Whitton United. 

Holders Woodbridge Town start their defence of the cup with home tie against Occold.
