ALL four Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup ties on Saturday were won by the away sides.

The most impressive result of the second round so far was arguably Long Melford U23s 6-0 success at Coplestonians Reserves.

Beccles Town Reserves remained on course for a fourth final in five seasons thanks to a 3-0 victory over Trimley Red Devils.

The other two matches to go ahead were settled by the odd goal – Walsham-le-Willows U23s returning from Bungay Town Reserves 4-3 winners and Henley Athletic Reserves pipping Sporting 87 Reserves 3-2.

The other two scheduled fixtures in the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup (pictured above) between Halesworth Town Reserves and Cornard United Reserves and Woodbridge Town Reserves versus Stowmarket Town Reserves were both postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Framlingham Town U23s host Brantham Athletic U23s on Tuesday night, with both teams aiming to join Beccles Town Reserves, Henley Athletic Reserves, Long Melford U23s and Walsham-le-Willows U23s in the quarter-final draw.

A total of 44 of the scheduled 56 second-round ties across five age groups of the Portable Space Suffolk Mixed Youth Cups went ahead on Sunday.

Haverhill Rovers EJA, holders of the Portable Space Suffolk Mixed Under-15 Minor Cup, lost 8-1 at Bury Town EJA – the side they defeated in last season’s final.

Only one tie went to a penalty shoot-out – Stowupland Falcons Yellow defeating Stowmarket Town Hornets 5-4 following a 2-2 draw.
