THREE more teams are through to the quarter-finals of this season’s Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup.

Haverhill Rovers, last season’s losing finalists Lowestoft Town and Trimley Sports & Social Club all progressed through their third-round ties on Sunday.

The three matches saw a total of 20 goals scored, with Haverhill Rovers and Lowestoft Town each finding the net six times.

They join AFC Sudbury and Ipswich Wanderers in the draw for the last eight, which will be announced on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Non-League Hour on Thursday.

The previous day Cornard United Reserves became the fifth side to reach the quarter-finals of this season’s Portable Space Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup.

However, the tie between Lakenheath Reserves and Stowmarket Town Reserves fell foul of the weather and they will now try again on Wednesday evening.

Confirmed quarter-finalists so far are Beccles Town Reserves, Bungay Town Reserves, Claydon Reserves, Cornard United Reserves and Ransomes Sports Reserves.

The quarter-finals draw will be announced on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Non-League Hour on Thursday.

AFC Dragonfly became the first side to reach the semi-finals of this season’s Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy following a 2-1 victory over Foxhall United on Sunday.

The Bury St Edmunds-based side will have to wait to see who joins them with two more ties scheduled for this Sunday and the other the week after.

The group stages of the Suffolk Girls’ Under-15 Cup were completed on Sunday and wins for Coplestonians and Thurston saw them both reach the final four of this season’s competition.

The semi-finals will be as follows: Haverhill Rovers v Saxmundham Sports, Coplestonians v Thurston.

The ties have provisionally been arranged for Sunday, April 30th and will be at neutral venues.
