THE first of this season’s Suffolk County Cup Quarter-Finals are taking place this weekend.

It’s the last eight in the MH Goals Suffolk Women’s Cup on Sunday afternoon – one of four competitions that have fixtures scheduled across the weekend.

Beccles Town, who play in Division One of the Norfolk Women & Girls’ Football League, welcome Needham Market, who were last season’s runners-up.

Ipswich Vale Exiles, who are playing in the competition for the first time this season, entertain Bungay Town, also of the NW&GFL.

Stowupland Falcons and Brett Vale, who sit first and second respectively in the Premier Division of the Suffolk Girls’ & Women’s Football League, face each other.

Premier Division side AFC Kesgrave will be aiming to pull off an upset when they host East Bergholt United, who play a step higher in Division One South of the ERWFL.

The outstanding three ties in the second round of the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup will be played on Saturday afternoon.

These are matches that were postponed on Saturday, December 10th due to frozen pitches.

There are also the first two second-round matches – the majority of ties are a week on Saturday – in this season’s Portable Space Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup.

Finally, the remaining two ties in the Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup Second Round are on Sunday afternoon.

Players from Needham Market and AFC Sudbury Reserves gather in their respective huddles (above) prior to last season’s semi-final at Needham Market.
