CODDENHAM Athletic caused an upset in the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup on Saturday.

CODDENHAM Athletic caused an upset in the McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup on Saturday.

The Macron SIL Division Five side defeated their Division Three visitors Laxfield, who were losing finalists in the 2020-21 season, 4-0 to reach this season’s quarter-finals.

Coddenham, who are currently second in the table, were not the only team to win by four clear goals – Framlingham Town ‘A’ saw off Wenhaston United Reserves by the same scoreline.

Framlingham Town ‘A’ will be joined by three other SIL Division Four sides – Coplestonians ‘A’, Gipping Gnats and Walsham-le-Willows ‘A’ who all won by a two-goal margin. Gipping Gnats (orange shirts) are pictured above in action  against Hadleigh Brettsiders (navy blue shirts) earlier this season.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be broadcast simultaneously on BBC Radio Suffolk’s Non-League Hour and via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed.

Stowupland Falcons kept on course to make it three successive victories in the Parkers Pitches Suffolk Junior Cup thanks to a 2-0 win away to Somersham in the third round.

They became the first team to reach this season’s quarter-finals, with the seven other ties scheduled for this coming Saturday.

Taverners will meet West Suffolk Wolves in the final four of this season’s Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy, after a 2-1 success in the penalty shoot-out following a 1-1 daw against Bedfield.

Stowupland Falcons were 2-1 winners at Ipswich Vale Exiles in the Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup on Sunday afternoon to set up a third-round tie at home to Woodbridge Town for the right to face AFC Sudbury in the quarter-finals.
