THE New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich has a special offer for the Suffolk footballing community.

‘Football September’ will be running at the theatre next month – and heavily discounted offers are available to Suffolk players, officials, volunteers and supporters.

The Red Lion is a gripping locker-room drama and is set in a semi-pro English Football league far beyond the glamour, million-pound contracts and international media attention. 

This West-End smash hit play is now being transformed into a new production for The New Wolsey stage this September. Set behind the scenes of a tough and real football club and league, this play is around the relationship between an ambitious manager, an ageing legendary kit-man and a young prodigy player.

Enjoy the locker room banter, the humour and their friendship as well as the intense pressure and the melt down as this struggling club takes on this star player who comes out of nowhere!

Loyalty, trust and morals are pushed to the very limit - and their relationships and the club’s future are pushed to the edge with an explosive end.

The show is written by leading British Playwright Patrick Marber and Alan Partridge, The Day to Today, Closer.

The stellar cast includes Crispin Letts (The Crown, Skyfall), Alistair Natkiel (Death on the Nile, Line of Duty) and Olatunje Ayofe.

The Invincibles is a fun, vibrant musical show starring some of the best actor musicians in the UK and is based on the true story of the history of Women's Football (from the First World War when the women's game was more popular than the men's).

This family show is fun, modern and full of live music (actor/musicians) and the story brings us right up to present at the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, following the brilliant Lionesses!
