SUFFOLK County Schools’ FA Boys’ Under-14s lost their GE Knowles Cup Semi-Final.

They went down 2-1 to Sussex Schools in a match played on the 3G pitch at Needham Market FC on Saturday.

Suffolk, who won Group 2 to earn a home tie in the last four, trailed 1-0 at the interval and then conceded a second soon after half-time, before pulling one back late on.

Owen Hammond, who is joint manager with Sam Burman, said: “It wasn’t our day today but really proud of these boys for how far they have come.

“The result was tough to take but will be used as an experience to further drive the boys on next season!”

Suffolk CSFA Secretary Ruth Ward said: “We are very proud of the squad for getting this far and would like to thank Needham Market FC for hosting Saturday’s match.”
