Big day looming for Suffolk CSFA U14s
IT WILL be a big day for Suffolk County Schools’ FA Boys’ Under-14s on Saturday.
Suffolk host Sussex Schools in the semi-final of the GE Knowles Cup on the 3G pitch at Needham Market FC, kick-off 11am.
The Suffolk side, who are managed by Owen Hammond and Sam Burman, won Group 2 of this season’s competition.
After a 2-2 draw at home to Hertfordshire, Suffolk won 3-1 away to Bedfordshire, 2-1 at home to Essex and 3-0 away to Norfolk.
Opponents Sussex, who had a walkover win versus Middlesex, then defeated Kent 4-2, beat Surrey 1-0 and lost 4-2 to Inner London and finished runners-up to Surrey on goal difference in Group 1.
Suffolk CSFA President Michael Hallam said: “We are so proud of our Suffolk Schools Under 14 Boys’ squad for reaching this semi-final in their first season together, after successfully competing against some much larger counties.
“Throughout, they have represented the very best qualities of youth football in Suffolk.”
The Suffolk squad will be selected from the following players who have represented the county this season.
