AFC Royals won the north Suffolk derby in the Veo Suffolk Boys’ Under-18 Midweek Cup.

They won 4-0 at Waveney on Thursday night to progress to the second round of this season’s competition.

Hadleigh United saw off the visitors Long Melford 3-0 in another local derby, while there was a good 2-1 win for Brantham Athletic away to Bury Town.

Holders AFC Sudbury won 3-1 away to Whitton United to book their place in the second round scheduled for Thursday, November 10th.

Sunday saw the start of this season’s Suffolk Boys’ Youth Cups and an 11-goal thriller in the Under-18 Sunday Cup in which Trimley Red Devils won 7-4 at Moreton Hall Youth White.

In The Suffolk Boys' Under-15 Cup Haverhill Rovers EJA went through 7-6 on penalties after a 3-3 draw at AFC Sudbury.
