Seasiders purchase an FSL scoreboard
FELIXSTOWE & Walton United have a new electronic scoreboard thanks to a Suffolk FA partner.
FSL Scoreboards have supplied the electronic scoreboard which is based in a corner of the AGL Arena in Dellwood Avenue, home to the Isthmian North club.
Purchase of the scoreboard was made possible through a three-year sponsorship from former club chair Andy Wilding, whose business Globex Freight Management Ltd also sponsor the Suffolk FA Referees’ Development Programme.
Clubs affiliated to Suffolk FA who purchase an electronic scoreboard receive a 10 per cent discount from FSL Scoreboards thanks to their partnership with Suffolk FA.
The Seasiders’ Joint Chair Chris Daynes said: “We have developed the ground into one of the best-appointed arenas in Suffolk over the last five years and the scoreboard is the latest addition to enhance the matchday experience for supporters.
“FSL were great to work with and we are delighted with the result. A scoreboard is a focal point of a football stadium, making it an ideal opportunity for a sponsor to raise their profile and coupled with the discount available through Suffolk FA, we’ve been able to continue our model of upgrading the AGL Arena through the generosity of sponsorship rather than redirecting funds from other areas of the football club.

Sponsor Andy Wilding, who is managing director of Globex Freight Management Ltd, said: “Supporting my local football club in any way I can gives me a lot of satisfaction.
“Having been a major sponsor of Felixstowe & Walton United FC during my nine-year tenure as club chairman, to help in a smaller way fills me with pride, so it gives me pleasure to sponsor the new innovative electric scoreboard.
“Since Covid-19 and since a change in business finances I have not been able to offer the level of sponsorship as in previous seasons, but sponsoring the little things like a club bus, advertising boards and now an electronic scoreboard means I can be satisfied that I am still able to help out but in a smaller way.
“I feel very proud that my business can be noticed around the ground in what is quickly becoming the standard for a Step 3 club, let alone step 4.”
