NICK Cooper is the new Referee Appointments Officer at Suffolk FA.
The 48-year-old will be responsible for appointing referees to Youth, Women’s, Veterans’ and Sunday Cup competitions in a part-time role.
Nick, who was born in Clacton and grew up in north-east Essex, is currently a National List Assistant Referee, regularly running the line at English Football League 1 and 2 fixtures.
He also previously was an assistant referee for EFL Championship matches and has been officiating on the EFL for the past 11 years.
He took up refereeing in 2000, starting with Essex FA, but has been registered with Suffolk FA for the past 16 years.
Nick, who lives in Ipswich with his wife and two daughters, also works as a schools’ chef manager.
Prior to taking up that post he worked at Suffolk FA in a Referee Appointments role for around two years up until May 2013.
Nick (pictured above) said: “I am delighted to be returning to Suffolk FA and really looking forward to working with the Workforce team.
“I am also looking forward to bringing my experience in helping to develop referees within the county and support them in any way I can.”
