THERE are ties in five different Suffolk county cup competitions across this weekend.

The four teams to contest the last four finals are all away in the second round of the Portable Space Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup on Saturday.

Holders Walsham-le-Willows Reserves, also the 2018-19 winners, travel across the county to face Henley Athletic Reserves.

Woodbridge Town Reserves, who lifted the cup in both 2019-20 and 2020-21, are on the road to Long Melford Reserves.

Beccles Town Reserves, who Woodbridge Town Reserves beat on both occasions, travel to Ipswich Wanderers U23s.

A total of 14 ties are scheduled for Saturday afternoon, with Cornard United Reserves already through to round two following their 3-0 victory over Debenham LC earlier this week and the Whitton United versus Leiston St Margarets match on Tuesday, October 18th.

The draw for the second round will be made next Tuesday lunchtime at 1pm.

The outstanding first-round tie in this season's CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup - Leiston Reserves versus East Bergholt United - takes place on Saturday, with East Bergholt looking to avenge last season's semi-final loss on penalties.

The two outstanding ties in the first round of the MH Goals Suffolk Women’s Cup take place on Sunday.

Brantham Athletic, who play in the Premier Division of the Suffolk Girls’ & Women’s Football League, host holders AFC Sudbury.

Ipswich Valley Rangers, newcomers to the competition this season, travel to Haverhill Rovers, who lost 3-1 to AFC Sudbury in last season’s semi-final.

The second-round draw will be announced during the Final Whistle programme on BBC Radio Suffolk from 5.30pm on Saturday along with the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup draw.

Earlier on Sunday it’s also the second round of three of the adult men’s Sunday cup competitions.

With holders Kitchener Taverners already knocked out of this season’s competition, a new name will appear on the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Cup this season.

None of the 16 sides left in the competition have ever won the trophy, although Mellis have been losing finalists on four separate occasions.

Mellis are away to Ipswich Sunday Football League Premier Division side the Golden Eagles.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be announced on Tuesday lunchtime at 1pm.

Two runners-up from the previous three years face each other in the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Shield as Rushmere & Diamonds entertain Gainsborough United.

The quarter-final draw will be made on Wednesday lunchtime at 1pm.

It’s the last 32 in the Best Badges Suffolk Sunday Trophy. Bedfield United, who were 4-0 winners at Breda in round one, will be at home to Eye Saints, who were 3-1 winners against Playford Reserves.

The third-round draw will be announced on Friday lunchtime at 1pm.
