THREE recent past winners all made progress in the Parkers Pitches Suffolk Junior Cup on Saturday.

Bacton United 89, Ipswich Athletic and holders Stowupland Falcons all won their first-round ties.

Ipswich Athletic, the 2014-15 winners, overcame Kessingland 3-2, while 2016-17 winners Bacton United 89 emerged victorious 2-1 at Thurlow.

Stowupland Falcons started their defence of the trophy with a 2-0 home win over Wenhaston United.

Stanton hit double-figures at Bardwell Sports, while Cockfield United, Great Blakenham Chequers and Tattingstone United also had good wins.

Cavendish, last season’s losing semi-finalists, beat Bramford United by the only goal of the game, and Kesgrave Kestrels saw off Woolverstone United 3-1.
