Suffolk duo reach final England trial
TWO Suffolk students have reached the finals stage of the England schoolboys’ trials.
Oliver Hart, who attends AFC Sudbury Football Academy, and Ollie Fraser of the Needham Market Football Academy will attend the trial on Sunday, December 11th.
The two 17-year-olds (pictured above with Ollie on the left and Oliver on the right) will represent the South squad against their northern counterparts at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
They will be competing for a spot in the 18-strong final England Schools’ FA squad and the opportunity to represent their country in the 2022-23 international season.
They both attended the first stages of the trials, along with three other Suffolk Schools’ players, at Leyton Orient Training Ground last month.
They were then successfully chosen to represent the South East and played against the South West last Sunday at Winchester College, and have since been notified they were successful in reaching the final stage.
AFC Sudbury Football Academy goalkeeper Jack Catley also took part in last Sunday’s South East versus South West trial but was not selected for the final trial.
Suffolk County Schools’ FA Administrator Ruth Ward said: “All at Suffolk County Schools’ FA would like to congratulate the boys on getting this far in the trails process and we wish them all the best for December 11th.”
