Down to final four in the Junior Cup
THE Parkers Pitches Suffolk Junior Cup Semi-Finals are taking place this weekend.
Woodbridge Town FC are staging the first semi-final on Friday evening when holders Stowupland Falcons will be attempting to maintain their hold on the cup.
They looked to have lost it after losing 3-0 at home to Wickham Market in the quarter-finals, only for their opponents to be removed from the competition for fielding an ineligible player.
Trying to stop them making the most of their reprieve will be fellow Macron SIL Division One side Tattingstone United, who have beaten both AFC Kesgrave and Sporting 87 in penalty shoot-outs either side of a 2-0 win at Thurston.
Craig Lockwood (yellow shirt, No.11) is pictured heading home a 92nd minute winner for Stowupland Falcons in last season's 2-1 victory in the final against Mutford & Wrentham at The New Croft in Haverhill.
The second semi-final on Saturday afternoon at Walsham-le-Willows FC pits last season’s runners-up Mutford & Wrentham against Cavendish.
Mutford & Wrentham, who secured promotion from Division Four of the Fosters Solicitors Anglian Combination last Saturday, face a Cavendish side who play in Division One of the Essex & Suffolk Border League.
Both matches are all-ticket, with no cash entry on the day.
