WHITTON United will contest their fourth consecutive Best Badges Suffolk Veterans’ Cup Final.

Buoyed by a goal inside the first minute, Whitton beat old rivals Woodbridge Town, who they have defeated in each of the previous three finals, 2-1 in Sunday’s semi-final.

Their opponents will be Moreton Hall Ferals who beat last season’s runners-up AFC Bergholt to reach their first final. The 5-3 scoreline was the highest-scoring county cup match of the weekend.

Leiston Orient, the 2016-17 winners of the Veo Suffolk Sunday Shield, booked their place in this season’s final thanks to a 3-2 win against Blakenham Chequers.

Their opponents in the final will be Laxfield, who edged past Moreton Hall 96 2-1 and will now be making their debut in the final of the competition.
