TWO teams remain undefeated after the opening evening of this year’s Veo Suffolk Sixes.

Needham Market, who won all four of their matches, and Goals Aloud, with three wins out of three, are the only two teams left with a 100 per cent record.

Nandos, last year’s winners, and East Bergholt both recorded three wins from their four matches played on the 3G pitches at the Copleston Centre.

There were a total of 75 goals scored across the 18 fixtures played on the opening night.

A total of ten teams have entered this year’s competition, which will be held over five Wednesday evenings, culminating in the winners being presented with the trophy on Wednesday, July 6th.

Suffolk FA County Support Officer Ruth Ward, who is one of the organisers, said: “It was great to see so many women enjoying playing the small-sided format on the opening night of this year’s Suffolk Sixes.

“It was especially pleasing to see the two new teams – Halesworth Ladies and Two Goals One Cup – taking part.”
