NEEDHAM Market have been crowned winners of this year’s Veo Suffolk Sixes.
The female six-a-side tournament, which returned last summer after being postponed in 2020 due to Covid, was held over five consecutive Wednesday evenings at Copleston Sports Centre in Ipswich.
Needham Market were worthy champions after winning 16 of their 17 games, only losing one game to Goals Aloud in the second week.

The Needham Market team were presented with the Veo Suffolk Sixes Shield and a £100 restaurant voucher by Suffolk FA Football Development Officer (Growth) Kirsty Smith.
Suffolk FA County Support Officer Ruth Ward, one of the organisers, said: “It was great to see so many teams play in the Suffolk Sixes this year.
“Halesworth Town entered for the first time and they were a brilliant addition to the competition.

“All of the matches were competitive and played in the right spirit, with some really good football being played.
“Hopefully with the Women’s Euros happening in the UK right now, this will help engage a wider audience, increase the profile of the women’s game and inspire more women and girls to get involved across the age ranges.”
