FAMILY business Turner Motor Group have extended their sponsorship of the Suffolk Premier Cup.

FAMILY business Turner Motor Group have extended their sponsorship of the Suffolk Premier Cup.

The car dealership, who have showrooms in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich, originally signed a two-year deal ahead of the 2019-20 season.

Although the competition went ahead in the 2019-20 season, the final was held over until the start of the following season and was played over two legs, with Needham Market defeating Lowestoft Town 4-3 on aggregate.

The competition was suspended during the 2020-21 campaign due to Covid-19 but returned last season, with Needham Market retaining the cup, after beating Leiston 5-4 on penalties following a 0-0 draw.

Turners Hyundai Franchise Manager Nathan Ramsey said: “We are delighted to once again sponsor the Suffolk Premier for the 2022-23 season.

“As a local business we are always keen to be involved in the local community and we are looking forward to the teams contesting this season’s competition.”

Suffolk FA Chief Executive Richard Neal said: “Nathan and his colleagues are fantastic supporters of local football as well as other sports and I’m delighted Turners Hyundai will continue to partner with us for the 2022-23 season as the title sponsor of the Suffolk Premier Cup.

“Nathan, in particular, has a keen interest in how clubs who play in the Suffolk Premier Cup fare throughout a season, and work with us to provide the best competition possible for the competing teams, particularly those who reach the final.

“If you are thinking of a new car, or even in need of a service or MOT, I would urge you to contact Nathan and his team either at their branch near Ransomes Europark in Ipswich or just off junction 43 of the A14 in Bury St Edmunds!”

The draw for the first and second rounds of the 2022-23 Turners Hyundai Suffolk Premier Cup will be announced on BBC Radio Suffolk on Thursday evening from 8pm.
