AT LEAST one new finalist is guaranteed in this season’s McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup.

Three of the four clubs to reach the semi-finals have never previously appeared in the final of the competition since its introduction in the 1933-34 season.

For Bardwell Sports, Framlingham Town ‘A’ and Kesgrave Kestrels at least one of them will be competing in next month’s final for the first time.

Only Wickham Market, who won the cup in both 1952-53 and 1974-75 as well as finishing runners-up in 1972-73, have contested the final before.

That was their first team, but it is the club’s Reserve side who will face Bardwell Sports at Framlingham Town FC on Saturday afternoon.

Wickham Market Reserves sit seventh in Intermediate A of the SIL, while Bardwell Sports are third in SIL Division Three.

Bardwell have been in impressive goalscoring form so far in this season’s competition, scoring five or more goals on three occasions and netting 18 times in their four ties while only conceding once.

Wickham Market Reserves have won three of their four matches thus far by at least two goals.

Kesgrave Kestrels, who top SIL Division Three and look on course to win the title, take on SIL Intermediate B side Framlingham Town ‘A’ on Friday night at Ipswich Wanderers FC.

Framlingham Town ‘A’ have needed penalties in three of their four games en route to the semi-finals, with their only victory in normal time coming in the last round.

Kesgrave Kestrels- have scored 16 times in their four matches to get to this stage, twice winning by four or more goals and twice by the odd goal.
