CAS funding April 2022

Clubs benefit from £60k CAS funding

CLUBS in the county have benefited from £60,000 worth of funding from a Suffolk organisation.

FOOTBALL clubs in the county have benefited from £60,000 worth of funding from a Suffolk organisation.

The Community Action Suffolk COVID Restart Fund has helped clubs to get back on their feet post the pandemic.

Suffolk Football has been able to re-open and use funding to support with a number of different initiatives such as:

  • Events to re-engage with the public, encourage players back or new ones – perhaps football tournaments in the summer months?
  • Publicity materials advising of new opening times/extra session
  • Additional kit so it doesn’t need to be shared (balls, bibs, training equipment)
  • Additional training – for example where you have new coaches that need upskilling

Matt Stebbings, Football Development Manager said: “It is great to see so many clubs of all sizes being able to benefit from this funding.

“This funding has allowed clubs and teams to restart after the many changes faced during the pandemic. There is still money in specific areas of the county so apply now.”

Funding from £250 up to £2,500 is still available in some areas of the county.

Although still open, limited funding is still available for the following districts, but applications may close at short notice once they have been allocated:

Ipswich - Community groups only (no sports funding available)

West Suffolk - Sports groups only (no community funding available)

East Suffolk - Community groups and Sports groups

Applications for funding in Mid Suffolk and Babergh have now closed.
