IPSWICH Town’s dominance of the Suffolk Women’s Cup is over.

IPSWICH Town’s dominance of the Suffolk Women’s Cup is over.

The club, who have won the cup the past seven seasons in a row, have withdrawn from this season’s competition.

With nine wins in the past ten years – AFC Sudbury won the cup in the 2013-14 season – Ipswich had originally entered their Development XI into the competition but have now pulled out.

East Bergholt United Reserves have also withdrawn as they have folded, meaning both teams’ opponents – Bungay Town and Woodbridge Town – will receive byes to the quarter-finals.

The draw for the second round saw both AFC Sudbury and Needham Market’s respective first and Reserve teams kept apart.

Suffolk Women’s Cup Second-Round Draw: East Bergholt Utd Res v Woodbridge Town – Away Win Walkover, Stowupland Falcons v Brett Vale, Halesworth Town v Needham Market, AFC Sudbury Women’s Res v Waveney, Ipswich Town Development v Bungay Town – Away Win Walkover, Beccles Town v AFC Sudbury, Brantham Athletic v Needham Market Res, AFC Kesgrave v Haverhill Rovers.

Ties to be played on Sunday, November 21st 2021, kick-offs 2.30pm.
