KBB festivals to start new season
SUFFOLK FA have announced details of the first of a series of Pre-Season KBB Grassroots Festivals.
Kesgrave Kestrels FC will host the festival on the outskirts of Ipswich on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021.
Suffolk FA Mini-Soccer & Youth Football Development Officer James Morley said: “Following Covid lockdowns we wanted to kick-off the 2021-22 season with a strong start.
“We all know the last 18 months have been tough in football with seasons being curtailed and stopping and restarting. Therefore, we want to have the biggest start a youth football season ever by holding a series of KBB Suffolk FA Pre-Season Festivals across the county.
“We wanted to enable teams from across Suffolk to have the opportunity to enter a team into a festival and enjoy a fun environment playing different teams as part of pre-season preparations.”
James continued: “We love organising KBB Suffolk FA Grassroots Festivals. Over the past several years, excluding the last one, we have organised festivals as a celebration at the end of the season, with one taking place at the start of the season in 2019.
“We want to celebrate the return of football following Covid with restrictions hopefully not being a factor and so bring people together to enjoy football in a fun environment.
“This will be the first year we will hold multiple festivals at the start of the season but with all of the breaks and guidelines which have been in place, this is our chance to kick-start the season with a bang.”
Roger Peck, one of the directors of The KBB Centre, who sponsor the KBB Suffolk FA Grassroots Festivals, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Grassroots Festivals are finally able to return, it’s been a long, uncertain 18 months for everyone.
“These multiple pre-season festivals are a great way to get everyone back into the swing of things and get the children (and the organisers) back to what they all love doing.
“We are extremely proud to sponsor these festivals and love being a part of them. They are not only enjoyed by the players but by the coaches, parents and organisers as well. We’re really looking forward to seeing lots of youngsters enjoying being back playing the game.”
