A SUFFOLK club is £250 richer after winning a national competition.
Lowestoft Town FC won the Christmas challenge shopping online competition run by easyfundraising.
Supporters of easyfundraising were encouraged to do their festive shopping online and simultaneously take advantage of free donations when purchasing from more than 4,300 retailers.
Lowestoft Town raised £323.30 in the competition period between November 2nd and December 31st out of a total of £5,136 raised by qualifying clubs in the competition period.
That amount took the total income Lowestoft Town, who have 55 supporters of the scheme, have received from easyfundraising since joining to £3,125.
A spokesman for Lowestoft Town said: “We are delighted to have won this competition and grateful to everyone that has chosen us for their donations.
“Easyfundraising is such an easy and fantastic way our supporters are continuing to show their support for us, and now more than ever this is vital to protect our business with the loss of sponsorship, football and functions that we would normally rely so heavily on.
“We can't wait to be able to welcome them back in the near future to Crown Meadow.”
Easyfundraising Partnerships Manager Ben Harper said: “Huge congratulations to Lowestoft Town FC who have won the easyfundraising Christmas Challenge with a fantastic £323.30 raised in free donations.
“This just shows what an effective fundraising solution easyfundraising is for your football club.
“We’ve seen a 43% increase in shopping via easyfundraising and with continued restrictions, our site provides a ‘pandemic proof’ method of raising much-needed funds for football clubs, so we want as many of the clubs not signed up to hear about us.”
