Goal-laden day in Senior Cup games
IT WAS a goal-laden afternoon in the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup on Saturday.
A total of 29 goals were scored across the six ties that went ahead, with the scheduled Waveney versus Old Newton United match postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
There were two 5-0 away wins – Needham Market Reserves winning at lower-league Achilles and Henley Athletic stunning fellow Macron SIL Senior Division joint leaders Claydon on their own patch.
Two ties went to penalties after high-scoring draws, and both resulted in wins for the away teams.
Bildeston Rangers led 2-0 at home to Leiston Reserves, who equalised in the last minute to level the tie at 4-4, before winning the shoot-out 4-3.
Trimley Red Devils and AFC Sudbury Reserves shared six goals across the 90 minutes, before the visitors progressed 5-4 on penalties.
