TWO of the fancied sides in this season’s CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup clash in the second round on Saturday.

Claydon and Henley Athletic have been the pacesetters in the Senior Division of the Macron SIL since the start of the season.

The two teams, who are locked together at the top of the table on 40 points, will come face-to-face at the Blue Circle ground on Saturday.

The outcome will mean one of them will not be in the hat for next week’s quarter-final draw.

Four other SIL sides have home advantage against sides from different leagues.

Achilles, the 2916-17 and 2018-19 winners, entertain Needham Market Reserves at Stone Lodge Lane.

Bildeston Rangers, last season’s runners-up, also host Thurlow Nunn League Division One North opposition in Leiston Reserves.

The quartet is made up by Ipswich Vale Exiles, who take on Anglian Combination League side Beccles Town.

Waveney, winners of this competition in the 2015-16 season, await SIL visitors Old Newton United.

The day’s other tie is an all Thurlow Nunn League affair, with Ipswich Wanderers meeting Debenham LC at Humber Doucy Lane.

Wanderers will be anxious to take another step towards erasing the memory of last season’s semi-final loss to Bildeston Rangers against a Debenham side who have never reached the final.

The remaining tie – Sudbury Sports versus East Bergholt United – is taking place next Saturday, December 11th.

The draw for the quarter-finals will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed and on BBC Radio Suffolk during the Thursday Night Sports Social on Thursday, December 9th between 8pm and 9pm.

The only other county cup tie scheduled for this weekend sees holders Stowupland Falcons travel to Bramford road Old Boys in their delayed third round tie in the Parkers Pitches Suffolk Junior Cup.
