Gym United looking to go out in style
THIS Sunday sees Brandon Town Community face Gym United in the final of the 2019-20 Rushmere Golf Club Sunday Cup.
The 2018-19 winners, Gym United, are looking to make it back-to-back cup wins in their last ever game as a club. They didn’t have it easy in the semi-finals against Borussia Martlesham with the game finishing 3-3, Gym United advancing to the final 5-4 on penalties.
Bury & District Sunday League Division One side Brandon Town Community had an equally tough match in the other semi-final, beating 2017-18 cup winners Kitchener Taverners 4-2 on penalties.
With both sides hungry to lift the trophy it’s set to be an exciting game. The final is taking place at The Denny Brothers Stadium, home of Bury Town FC, kick off 2.30pm.
In accordance with The FA's return to football guidance, the final will be limited to a crowd of 400. Tickets can be purchased here
This Sunday also sees the second semi-final of the HomeStore Self Storage Suffolk Women’s Cup take place that had previously been postponed due to the pandemic.
Brett Vale will face East Bergholt United at the Millfield, home of Hadleigh United FC, kick-off 2.30pm.
The winner will progress to the final where they will meet holders Ipswich Town, on a date and at a venue to be confirmed.
