THE draw has been made for the opening two rounds of the 2020-21 CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup.
The 2019-20 semi-finalists Coplestonians, who play in the Macron SIL Senior Division, have been drawn away to Thurlow Nunn League Division One North side Haverhill Borough in the first round.
The semi-finals and final of last season’s competition are still to be played due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020-21 competition will feature 34 teams, with the only other first-round tie seeing Leiston Reserves host Needham Market Reserves in an all-Step 6 clash.
In the second round, 2018-19 winners Achilles have been drawn at home to higher-league Framlingham Town.
Felixstowe & Walton United Reserves, who have moved to the Essex & Suffolk Border League Premier Division for the 2020-21 season, will entertain Lakenheath.
Newcomers Sudbury Sports, who are still involved in the semi-finals of last season’s Total Football Suffolk Junior Cup and were promoted to the E&SBL Premier Division for this season, will be at home to Macron SIL side Benhall St Mary.
AFC Sudbury Reserves, meanwhile, will take on Ipswich Town Under-18s at the MEL Group Stadium, with Ipswich conceding home advantage.
CNet Training have agreed to extend their sponsorship of the competition to a sixth consecutive season.
Andrew Stevens, Chief Executive of CNet Training, said: “CNet Training has supported grassroots football for many years and we are delighted to extend this to the 2020-21 season by sponsoring the Suffolk FA Senior Cup, for our sixth year.
“We look forward to the seeing the amazing competitive spirit and sportsmanship associated with the Cup and wish all the teams the very best of luck.”
