LAKENHEATH will look to bounce back in the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup on Saturday.

The Thurlow Nunn League Division One North side lost 3-1 in the Buildbase FA Vase at home to neighbours Mildenhall Town last weekend. Lakenheath (green shirts) are pictured in possession against Mildenhall (yellow shirts) during the Second Qualifying Round tie.

While losing to their higher-league neighbours was not entirely unexpected, Thurlow Nunn League Division One North side Lakenheath will be looking to enjoy a run in this season’s Suffolk Senior Cup.

Standing in their way are Felixstowe & Walton United Reserves, who switched from the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League to the Essex & Suffolk Border League for this season.

The Seasiders have conceded home advantage as their first team are playing at the Goldstar Ground in the Buildbase FA Trophy, and Lakenheath will look to make staging the tie at The Nest count.

Woodbridge Town make a swift return to Lowestoft in the newly-named Portable Space Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup in one of 13 first-round ties scheduled on Saturday.

The Woodpeckers travel to Waveney, just up the road from where they won the final of the 2019-20 competition less than three weeks ago.

Woodbridge defeated Beccles Town 2-1 in the final at Crown Meadow, home of Lowestoft Town FC, and will be looking to make a similar impact in this season’s competition.

The following day sees matches in all five of the Sunday adult competitions.

It’s round two in the Rushmere Golf Club Suffolk Sunday Cup, plus the Suffolk Sunday Shield and Suffolk Sunday Trophy plus there is one tie in each of the HomeStore Self Storage Suffolk Women’s Cup and the Suffolk Veterans’ Cup.

The delayed 2019-20 Suffolk Veterans’ Cup Final is also taking place at Hadleigh United FC on Sunday afternoon.
