TWO more 2020-21 county cup competitions get under way with a full programme of fixtures this weekend.

Saturday sees the start of the Total Football Suffolk Junior Cup with 14 first-round ties scheduled.

Both Melton United and Elmswell, who contested the delayed 2019-20 McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup Final last week, are among those involved following their promotion from Division Three of the Macron SIL last season.

Melton, who emerged 4-3 winners in the final at Stowmarket Town FC, entertain Bacton United 89, the 2016-17 winners and 2018-19 runners-up.

There is one Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup tie – Walsham-le-Willows Reserves v Capel Plough Reserves – scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

A total of 38 teams will be involved in the first round of the Suffolk Veterans’ Cup that kicks-off on Sunday afternoon.

Neither Whitton United nor Woodbridge Town, who will meet in the re-arranged final a week on Sunday, are involved, but 2014-15 and 2015-16 winners Bury Town travel to AFC Thurlow.

Needham Market, meanwhile, host Chantry Grasshoppers in the first round of the HomeStore Self Storage Suffolk Women’s Cup on Sunday.
