TWO Waveney teams are through to the finals of the Crown Imperial Suffolk Youth Cups.
The first of this season’s two semi-finals days – at The Morrish Stadium at Walsham-le-Willows FC – saw six of Sunday’s nine scheduled ties go ahead.
Waveney Leopards booked their place in the final of the Girls’ Under-12 Cup courtesy of victory over Saxmundham Sports, but in the only tie to go to a penalty shoot-out, Waveney Foxes emerged 5-3 winners over Stonham Aspal following a thrilling 5-5 draw.
In the final they will now play Bungay Town, who overcame Haverhill Rovers.
Three of the four Kirkley & Pakefield sides scheduled to play asked for their matches to be postponed due to the Coronavirus, but the one team from the club that did play were successful.
Kirkley defeated Leiston EJA 4-2 in the Crown Imperial Boys’ U13 Cup to reach the final.
