200 teams sign up for KBB Festival

THIS year’s end-of-season KBB Suffolk FA Grassroots Festival will be the biggest yet.

THIS year’s end-of-season KBB Suffolk FA Grassroots Festival will be the biggest yet.

The number of teams to sign-up for the two-day festival has already smashed the 200 barrier, breaking last season’s previous record of 175 teams.

The free festival, which has grown in popularity since KBB first sponsored the event seven years ago, is taking place at Whitton United FC on the outskirts of Ipswich on Saturday and Sunday May 16th and 17th.

This season’s festival will see Mixed age groups from U7 to U16 and Girls’ U7 to U15 all catered for alongside walking football and the iCAN Football League.

Suffolk FA Mini Soccer & Youth Football Development Officer James Morley said: “We are really excited for this season’s KBB Suffolk FA Grassroots Festival.

“We can’t believe the uptake and sign-ups we’ve had already for this festival since opening the sign-up window a few weeks ago.

“We aim to make the next festival bigger and better which gets harder every year to build on the success of the previous festival. It’s always a challenge we look to take head on and to able to have 200 teams signed up two months out is a massive milestone for us.

“Alongside the football taking place on the day we have invited guests and partners to come along and support the event to build the atmosphere and activities available to all the players.

“Thank you again for the continued support of Roger Peck and his family and staff at KBB, without them we wouldn’t have been able to get the festival to where it is today.

“Also thank you to Whitton United and their volunteers to allow us to host the festival at King George V Playing Fields for a third consecutive year.”

There are still spaces available for some festivals, so to sign up your team if you haven’t done so already, please click here
