Falcons soar high in Primary Cup victory

THE three ties in the Suffolk Primary Cup saw 14 goals scored on Saturday.

THE three ties in the newly-named McDonald’s Suffolk Primary Cup saw 14 goals scored on Saturday.

Stowupland Falcons Reserves led the way with a nap hand as they defeated Stanton Reserves 5-0 away.

Hope Church won 4-1 at home to Woolverstone United Reserves and Kesgrave Kestrels were 4-0 winners against Mutford & Wrentham Reserves.

The second-round draw for the Primary Cup (pictured above) will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed on Tuesday at 12.30pm.

There were goals galore in the six Suffolk Sunday Cup ties the following day – 33 of them!

Brandon Town Community were 9-0 winners away to Horringer, while Moreton Hall 96 and Pin Mill Pirates shared ten goals, Moreton Hall winning 6-5 in the subsequent penalty shoot-out.

There were also wins for Borussia Martlesham, Holbrook Swan and Pauls.

The quarter-final draw will be filmed live on the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 12.30pm on Wednesday.

There were an extraordinary 14 goals in one Suffolk Sunday Shield tie – The Feathers edging past Elmsett United 6-4.

Bungay Town came out on top 2-1 in the tie against fellow former winners Leiston Orient.

The third-round draw will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 12.30pm on Thursday.

Hardy FC hit double figures in the second round of the Suffolk Sunday Trophy, winning 12-0 at home to Rosary CC Reserves, while Smiler won 9-0 at Trinity.

AFC Thurston struck seven, AFC Claydon, Gainsborough United and Kesgrave Kestrels each netted six, while Elmswell Athletic, Great Blakenham Chequers Reserves, JB Sap United and Thrasher United scored five goals apiece to book their places in the third-round draw.

The draw for the third round will be announced via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed at 12.30pm on Friday.
