Waveney rewarded with Ipswich in cup
WAVENEY’S reward for reaching the quarter-finals of the Suffolk Boys’ Under-18 Midweek Cup is a tie against Ipswich Town Under-16s.
Their long trip from north Suffolk to the west of the county on Thursday night was rewarded with a 5-1 victory at Cornard United.
Although Ipswich came out first in the draw, Waveney will have home advantage.
Holders AFC Sudbury will have to wait to see who their opponents will be in the last eight of this season’s competition.
AFC Sudbury, who won 4-1 at Haverhill Rovers on Thursday, will face either Kirkley & Pakefield or Woodbridge Town, who will need to replay their tie after it was abandoned on Thursday due to a player injury after 54 minutes.
