WE ARE down to the last 16 teams in the Total Football Suffolk Junior Cup this weekend.

The third round is taking place on Saturday afternoon, with some attractive-looking ties on offer.

Ransomes Sports currently lead the way in Division One of the Macron SIL with nine wins and one defeat in ten matches so far.

They will be confident of overcoming Coddenham Athletic, who are second bottom of the table with just one win in eight matches to date.

A tasty local derby is in store as Southwold Town, sixth in Division One, entertain Halesworth Town, who sit second.

Sporting 87, who are third in SIL Division One, host Bures United, who occupy ninth position in Division One of the Essex & Suffolk Border League.

Bacton United 89 have featured in each of the last three semi-finals of this competition and will be bidding to take another step towards a last-four appearance.

They will start as favourites to progress at home to Bramford Road Old Boys, who are fourth in SIL Division Two. The Bacton United 89 squad are pictured above before last season's final at Portman Road in which they lost 4-2 to Bildeston Rangers.

The same can be said of Stanton, who are eighth in Division One, versus Bedricks Worth, who are second in Division Two.

Tattingstone United, who top Division Two of the SIL, are at fifth-placed AFC YourShirts, who were runners-up in the Suffolk Primary Cup in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.

There’s an all-Division Two clash as ninth-placed Saxmundham Sports welcome Somersham, who sit bottom.

The remaining tie sees Sudbury Sports Academy, sixth in Division One of the Essex & Suffolk Border League, tackle Barham Athletic, 12th in SIL Division One.

The quarter-final draw will be broadcast live via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed next Wednesday lunchtime at 12.30pm.

Sunday afternoon sees the outstanding second-round tie in the HomeStore Self Storage Suffolk Women’s Cup taking place.

Haverhill Rovers Ladies Community entertain Beccles Town for a place in the quarter-finals, where the winners will be away to Needham Market.
