Senior Reserve Cup Final place on offer

A PLACE in the Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup Final is on offer on Saturday.

A PLACE in the final of this season’s Days Sports Suffolk Senior Reserve Cup is the prize on offer for four teams on Saturday.

Stowmarket Town will be bidding to reach their third final in a row when they take on Trimley Red Devils at Humber Doucy Lane, home of Ipswich Wanderers FC.

The Old Gold & Blacks, whose first team lost 3-0 in the semi-finals of the KBB NEFF Suffolk Premier Cup to Felixstowe & Walton United on Tuesday night, won this competition in 2017.

They beat Woodbridge Town 2-1 in the final at Colchester United FC, before losing 2-0 to Felixstowe & Walton United in last season’s final at Needham Market FC. Stowmarket (red shirts) are pictured above in action against Woodbridge Town (black & white striped shirts) in the 2017 final.

Stowmarket have already clinched this season’s Thurlow Nunn Reserve League title – and will now be aiming to complete the double.

Their opponents Trimley Red Devils sit top of League A of the Touchline SIL, losing just one of their 19 league games so far.

The other semi-final sees Walsham-le-Willows, winners of this competition in 2014, face Framlingham Town at Beccles Town FC.

Walsham-le-Willows are currently third in the Thurlow Nunn Reserve League, while Framlingham are fifth in League A of the Touchline SIL.
