Leiston boss to face former club Ipswich
LEISTON manager Stuart Boardley will face his former club in the semi-final of this season’s Suffolk Premier Cup.
Boardley launched his career as an Ipswich Town Youth team player, before playing for Torquay United and then dropping down into non-league, spending 12 years with Leiston either side of a spell at AFC Sudbury.
Boardley is pictured above (right) with BBC Radio Suffolk sports presenter Graeme Mac (left) at the draw which was announced on the station’s Final Whistle programme on Saturday evening.
The tie between the holders and Ipswich, who have fielded their Under-18 side in the competition this season, will take place at the Goldstar Ground, home of Felixstowe & Walton United FC, on Wednesday, March 13th, kick-off 7.45pm.
The night before Felixstowe & Walton United will meet Stowmarket Town for a place in the final at Portman Road.
The match between the Seasiders, who play in the Bostik North League, and Stowmarket, who play a league below in the Thurlow Nunn League Premier Division, will be held at Millfield, the ground of Hadleigh United FC, kick-off 7.45pm.
