BRAMFORD Road Old Boys pulled off an upset in the Suffolk Junior Cup on Saturday.

BRAMFORD Road Old Boys pulled off an upset in the Total Football Suffolk Junior Cup.

The Macron SIL Division Two side defeated their Division One hosts Bacton United 89 2-1 in Saturday’s third-round tie to book their place in this season’s quarter-finals.

Bacton United 89 had reached the semi-finals of the competition in each of the last three seasons, winning the cup in the 2016-17 season and finishing runners-up last season.

League leaders Ransomes Sports were 3-1 winners at home to fellow SIL Division One side Coddenham Athletic, while it was Halesworth Town who came out on top in the all-Division One derby meeting with Southwold Town.

Stanton required spot kicks to beat Bedricks Worth 5-3 following a 1-1 draw, while Sporting 87 beat Bures United of the Essex & Suffolk Border League 5-3.

Sudbury Sports Academy proved too strong for Barham Athletic, scoring eleven times without reply.

The last eight line-up is completed by AFC Yourshirts and Somersham, who both had 2-1 victories over Tattingstone United and Saxmundham Sports respectively.

The quarter-final draw will be broadcast live via the Suffolk FA Twitter feed on Wednesday lunchtime at 12.30pm.

Beccles Town set up an away tie at Needham Market, last season’s losing finalists, in the HomeStore Self Storage Suffolk Women’s Cup thanks to a 7-0 win at Haverhill Rovers Ladies Community on Sunday.

The solitary tie in the Crown Imperial Suffolk Boys’ Under-13 Plate produced nine goals, with Holbrook Hornets edging past Bury Town Bulldogs 5-4.

The two delayed ties in the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup are taking place on Tuesday evening.

Framlingham Town host Adem Atay’s Ipswich Town Under-18 side, while Ipswich Wanderers have home advantage versus fellow Thurlow Nunn League Division One North side AFC Sudbury Reserves.
