Tough task awaits AFC Sudbury in cup

THE draw has been made for the first round of the Suffolk Women's Cup.

HOLDERS Ipswich Town will entertain AFC Sudbury in the first round of this season’s HomeStore Self Storage Suffolk Women Cup.

Ipswich lifted the trophy for the seventh time in eight seasons, and the fifth year in a row, when they defeated Needham Market 8-0 in last season’s final at Portman Road.

Ipswich beat AFC Sudbury 2-0 in the 2015 final and again 5-1 in the 2018 final.

Needham Market will be at home to Woodbridge Town, who lost on penalties at last season’s quarter-final stage 4-2 to Haverhill Rovers after a 1-1 draw.

Byes: Beccles Town, Brantham Athletic, Brett Vale, Bungay Town, Coplestonians, East Bergholt Utd, Haverhill Rovers, Haverhill Rovers Development, Henley Athletic, Needham Market Res, University of Suffolk.

Ties to be played on Sunday, September 15th 2019.
