Bildeston reach Junior Cup Final

BILDESTON Rangers are through to their first-ever Suffolk Junior Cup Final.

BILDESTON Rangers are through to their first-ever KBB NEFF Suffolk Junior Cup Final.

They won 2-1 against fellow Touchline SIL Division One sides Sporting 87 at the Denny Bros Stadium, home of Bury Town FC, on Saturday to book their place in the final.

Bildeston had to come from behind, with Charlie Guy scoring the winner just after the hour.

Their opponents will be Bacton United 89, who defeated Halesworth Town 2-0 in their semi-final at Notcutts Park, home of Woodbridge Town FC.

It was Bacton’s third semi-final in as many seasons. They won their first two years ago and went on to lift the trophy, before being beaten at this stage 12 months ago.

Goals from Nick Knights and Kurits Goatham plus a penalty save by keeper Jack Hardy ensured the SIL Division One side progressed at the expense of their Division Two opponents.

The showpiece final at Portman Road will take place on Tuesday, May 14th, kick-off 7.30pm.
